L'Angelus (US) (cajun)
L'Angélus is an American band composed of four (of a total of eight) siblings, Katie, Paige, Johnny, and Stephen Rees, who have performed together since they were children. They play a variety of genres, but in recent years have emphasized their Louisiana roots, playing a mixture of cajun fiddle tunes, swing, saxophone driven swamp pop, and New Orleans influenced R&B.

Preparations and departure for crew parade

Crew Parade and prize giving ceremony
The crew parade will assemble at the Oil museum at 16:00 and depart at 16:30. The course of the parade runs along Ryfylkekaien and Skagenkaien, finishing with members gathering at the main stage at 17:30. A prize ceremony will follow once everyone is in place.

This is without a doubt one of the highlights of the event both for crews and of course the public. Thousands of crew members from all corners of the globe will bring the quayside to life with song, dance and music each in in their own unique way. Moments before the parade enters the main square the parade will stop and await for the moment when the air will be filled with the collective sounding of all of the ships' horns. Crew members will then start to gather in front of the main stage during a performance from Eric 'Slim' Zahl and the South West Swingers. Once everyone is in position there will be a prize giving ceremony for the Lerwick to Stavanger leg of the race, followed by the days shanty songs from SS Statsraad Lehmkuhl. DON'T MISS IT!

Tuva is the neighbor republic of Mongolia, and perhaps as far away from the sea as it is possible to get. Front figure Albert Kuvecin is considered the world's leading throat singer. Yat Kha is definitely the most exotic band that plays during the festival and we look forward to hear them play and sing like foghorns of the ships!. Albert will also be involved in the commissioned work on Saturday night.

Frøken Fryd is a hard rocking four piece from Stavanger, consisting of four fifteen and sixteen year old girls. They are a part of the RUF-project, a center for developing young talented musicians. This band has only just started their musical journey, writing their own rock 'n' roll songs with Norwegian lyrics, they have already performed several concerts, recorded three demo-tapes and received much attention from local media.
