The crew consists of 2500 people from 32 countries, and more than 1400 of the crew are trainees between the age of 15 and 25.
- We are proud to receive so many great young people to our city. We are all moved by the tragic events that happened in Oslo and Utøya on 22 July, but will continue with the Tall Ships Races in the same spirit as the basis for the entire regatta, namely through the sailing fraternity, says the Mayor of Stavanger, Leif Johan Sevland.
The official opening ceremony will find place at 1730 on Thursday.
